Infact it's supposed to prevent the critters from going on the food. For my part it is for flies and flies can enter because the bottom of the product is not level and does not touch the table do not recommend

Satisfactory product, it takes up little space and is very practical for protecting all kinds of food. Only downside, the color did not correspond to the order but this does not pose a major problem
