The sound of a guitar changes greatly depending on the characteristics of the amp you connect it to. Vacuum tube amps, high-quality amps that can produce the same sound, and even high-quality digital modeling amps do not significantly change the input signal to the amp, and at the same time, they create beautiful edges and a tone that slightly lifts the midrange to bring the guitar to the forefront, highlighting the tones of the guitar and amp. On the other hand, traditional transistor amps and classic amp modeling require a traditional overdrive that brings the guitar's important frequencies to the forefront and produces firm distortion. MARIGOLD ORANGE OVERDRIVE is an overdrive pedal that combines these features. Depending on the characteristics of the connected amp, you can select between FLAT mode, which brings out the amp's tone, and MID mode, which creates a more overdrive-like sound, by simply switching the slide switch under the output terminal. With this switch, when you select MID mode, you can raise the frequency around 800Hz by about +6dB. In FLAT mode, it also has a peak around 800Hz, but further expands the low and high frequencies, allowing the guitar signal to be transmitted to the amplifier without leaving anything behind. Classic overdrives are too focused on the midrange, and can end up cutting off too much from the low-mid range. On the other hand, overdrives that don't add flavor to the guitar tone and output it as is, tend to focus on a flat response, which can result in overtones becoming thinner. MARIGOLD ORANGE OVERDRIVE has a solid core in the low mids, while at the same time allowing you to freely control overtone components.
