NANGA is a Japanese brand. Its name comes from Nanga Parbat, an 8,000-meter-high peak in the Himalayas. Founded 74 years ago, NANGA is a domestic down product manufacturer based in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Ibuki. The company primarily produces sleeping bags, jackets, pants, and other mountaineering apparel.
This high-spec model is designed for temperatures as low as -20°C, and is lightweight. The "Level 8" series represents the pinnacle of NANGA's technological expertise. It features lightweight, waterproof, and breathable AURORALIGHT material. The U.S. military has a standard called MIL-SPEC, which defines a layering system for body items ranging from LEVEL 1 to LEVEL 7. NANGA has further expanded this system with its LEVEL 8 sleeping bag, designed to provide additional coverage. The LEVEL 8 zipper is positioned higher above the chest, reducing the intrusion of cold air from the ground. A double draft tube behind the zipper blocks out cold air. It features shoulder warmers and a waist tube at the waist. This provides a barrier to cold currents inside the sleeping bag, improving heat retention.
