AUTOart 1/18 scale die-cast miniature car.
The RA272 was the second car, following the RA271, developed for the 1965 F1 World Championship in Honda's first period of F1 activity, when the team competed as a full works team from the 1964 season onwards, with the chassis and engine all manufactured in-house.
The RA272 was a formula car developed for the 1965 F1 World Championship.
The car's body was significantly improved and lighter than the previous year's RA271, and it was equipped with a transversely mounted 1.5-liter water-cooled V12, 48-valve DOHC engine, an ultra-high-revving engine for the time, producing over 230 horsepower at 13,000 rpm.
A new contract was signed with Goodyear, which began competing in F1 that year, for tires.
The final race, the Mexican Grand Prix, was held at an altitude of 2,200 meters, so the team undertook high-altitude countermeasures, including meticulous engine settings, in pre-race testing.
Starting from third place in qualifying, Richie Ginther led every lap and secured Honda's historic first F1 victory in just its 11th race since its debut.
This was the final victory of the 1.5-liter F1 era, and also a memorable first F1 victory for both Ginther and Goodyear tires.
This product realistically recreates this monumental machine, a shining light in Japanese motorsports history, based on meticulous research and extensive documentation.
It's packed with highlights, including the ability to remove the cowling to view the engine and suspension.
