Product Introduction
Fine Molds 1/72 Aircraft Series Imperial Navy 18th Experimental Land-Based Reconnaissance Plane, Prototype Keiun Plastic Model FP23
The Prototype Keiun was a Navy land-based reconnaissance aircraft developed toward the end of the war for high-speed long-distance advances into enemy territory and high-altitude reconnaissance.
To achieve high speeds, the aircraft featured a unique aircraft configuration, with two liquid-cooled engines mounted parallel to the center of the fuselage and an extended shaft driving a six-bladed propeller in the nose.
The original plan was for a speed of 740 km/h, but development was fraught with difficulties, and only a few test flights were conducted beginning in May 1945 before the end of the war.
