Unlike individual ice cube trays, milk trays are specifically designed for expressed milk and have a total of 16 semi-circular cavities that hold 1 oz of milk. Most importantly, milk trays are made of PET plastic, a food-safe plastic that does not contain bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, or dyes. How to Use: How to Freeze and Store Breast Milk: Pour into the bottle that came with your pump. Pour directly into the tray just below the 1 ounce line (the fill line is about 1/8 inch below the top). Place tray on counter, open lid, and carefully place on freezer shelf to rest for about 5 hours. Store frozen milk sticks in freezer-safe quart-size bags for up to 2 weeks’ worth of milk. Date bag and place in freezer until ready to use. Wash in warm, soapy water only and reuse tray.
