This book examines the question of Japanese language teachers' expertise in an increasingly diverse Japanese language education environment. "There is no fixed method for a certain field. Methods are organized between the teacher's philosophy and the field." This book questions the conventionally fixed understanding of "expertise" and proposes a "trinity model" in which philosophy, method, and field are consistently linked. It also includes examples of practice in a variety of fields. Each practitioner reflects on their practice while being conscious of the relationship between their own philosophy, field, and method, exploring the nature of "expertise.
