Kai Bojesen's name is beloved and familiar not only in his native Denmark, but around the world. He first became known for his handmade wooden dolls and other works.
In 1938, he designed a cutlery set consisting of a spoon, fork, and knife. In 1951, his cutlery won the Grand Prix at the Milan Art Exhibition, and was named Grand Prix.
Upon its release, the set caused a sensation throughout Denmark. Its reliable quality and captivating design remain undiminished more than 50 years after its launch, and it continues to be used by the Danish Royal Family and Danish embassies around the world.
In recognition of his achievements, on May 22, 1991, a commemorative stamp was issued featuring his Royal Warrant cutlery. It was also in 1991 that he was commissioned to manufacture his products in Japan. Since then, stainless steel cutlery has been manufactured at Oizumi Bussan in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, and is used worldwide. This fork is perfect for eating fish dishes. It's designed by Kai Bojesen to make it easy to separate the meat and remove bones.
